POSTED: August 8, 2013 12:07 a.m.

A Gainesville man was arrested Wednesday after Hall County Sheriff’s Office investigators say they found 14 bags of marijuana, about 2 pounds, worth $4,000.

Eric Charles Chambers, 39, was charged with possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, according to a news release from the Multi Agency Narcotics Squad.

Sheriff’s office investigators responded to a home in the 5200 block of Bogus Road, where they found Chambers “attempting to hide and subsequently flee from the bathroom,” according to the news release.

Chambers was booked into the Hall County Jail.

Chambers also had 15 outstanding warrants for his arrest in connection with a May 25 incident with the Georgia State Patrol. He also had about 2 pounds of marijuana with him then, according to the news release.

In the May incident, a trooper attempted to stop a Jeep Cherokee for speeding on Ga. 11 near the Hall/White county line, GSP said. The driver failed to stop and later crashed on Ga. 284. The driver then ran into a wooded area. The driver was not located following a manhunt and warrants were taken for Chambers on May 28, according to GSP.
