Hannah Beth Miller and Mark Travis Thomas were united in marriage at 5 p.m. May 11, 2013, at Lakewood Baptist Church in Gainesville. The bride is the daughter of Robert “Bobby” and Gale Miller of Lula. She is the granddaughter of Bud and Yvonne Wiley of Alto, and the late Henry and Fannie Miller. The groom is the son of G.J. “Jo Jo” and Debbie Thomas of Gainesville. He is the grandson of Jerry and Elsie Walley of Tallulah, La., and Grover Thomas Jr. of Blue Ridge and the late Vera Ann McElhannon Thomas.

The Rev. Scott Smith performed the ceremony. Pianist Bill Schmid, soloist Claire Smith and guitarist and soloist Matthew Thomas presented a program of wedding music.

The bride was presented in marriage by her parents. The bride’s sisters Jennifer Parker of Lula and Becca Hamby of Lula were matrons of honor. Bridesmaids were the bride’s cousin Taylor Hunt of Lula, and the bride’s friends Lori Bond of Gillsville, Lindsey Moore of Gainesville, Christina White of Gainesville, Cassidi Wiley of Lula and Natalie Dowling of Gainesville. The bride’s niece Miley Parker of Lula was the flower girl. The bride’s cousins Carly Mihalick and Norah Cook and the bride’s friends Kit Pope, Genesis Parker Satterfield and Weslyn McGee presented a bridal prelude.

The groom’s brothers Micah Thomas of Gainesville and Matthew Thomas of Gainesville served as best man. Groomsmen were the groom’s cousin Scott Akin of Athens, and the groom’s friends Davy Wallach of Roswell, Garrett Lussi of Duluth, Craig Brisson of Lilburn, and Robby Poole of Gainesville. The bride’s nephew Shepherd “Shep” Hamby of Lula was the ring bearer.

Holly Meeks and Sydney Wilson kept the bride’s book.

The bride wore the veil that her sisters wore in their weddings, and the ring bearer carried a Bible that belonged to the bride’s grandfather.

The groom’s parents gave a rehearsal dinner at First Baptist Church in Gainesville on the eve of the wedding.

The bride’s parents gave a reception at Lakewood Baptist Church in Gainesville following the ceremony.

Following a honeymoon to the Western Caribbean Islands, the couple reside in Lula.
