4 arrested in connection with car break-ins

POSTED: July 6, 2013 12:17 a.m.

The Hall County Sheriff’s Office arrested four men Friday charged in a spree of breaking into cars.

Blake Ray Forrester, 20, Connor William Wales, 19, and Dillon Ross Stowers, 19, each are charged with 12 counts of entering auto.

Dylan Allen Martinez, 17, is charged with 14 counts of entering auto and two counts of criminal trespassing.

“The total value of stolen property hasn’t been tallied yet, but initial estimates are in excess of $20,000,” said Sgt. Stephen Wilbanks, spokesman for the sheriff’s office.

Each of the men also face three counts of burglary in the first degree and have holds for charges in Forsyth County.

Sheriff’s deputies responded Wednesday to the Graham Circle circle in northwest Hall County after a resident saw a man breaking into a car at her home, the sheriff’s office said in a release.

The suspect ran when he was discovered, but was tracked by a police dog unit to a nearby house on Price Road, where he was arrested without incident.

During the course of the investigation, three more people were interviewed and ultimately linked to a number of recent entering auto cases in Hall, Forsyth, and Dawson counties.

Investigators also were able to recover a large amount of stolen property including power and hand tools, GPS devices, electronics and personal items.

Investigators believe more charges are possible as the investigation continues and more victims come forward. Some of the property recovered has not yet been linked to specific victims.

Wilbanks said the total value of property recovered and returned to owners thus far is approximately $5,500.

“In addition, we probably have another $4,000 to $5,000 worth of property that was recovered but has not yet been linked to victims,” Wilbanks said.

Potential victims can set up an appointment to identify their belongings by contacting the Criminal Investigations Division at 770-531-6879.

The Sheriff’s Office is also asking that anyone who may have been a recent victim of entering auto or theft but did not report it to contact Hall County Dispatch at 770-536-8812.
