Your Views: Cover-ups, expensive trips burden taxpayers

POSTED: June 26, 2013 1:00 a.m.

If any of you watch the news, you see the cover-ups our elected leaders are imposing on the American people.

In Libya, our consulate was attacked and four brave Americans died because our leaders ignored their pleas for help. Hillary Clinton shrugged her shoulders and said, “What difference does it make?” Our president claimed no knowledge of the event.

Now our government has been caught targeting many who don’t support or agree with their policies by siccing the IRS on them. Washington now is listening in our phone conversations and monitoring our emails on the Internet.

Our attorney general lies to Congress daily about his list of involvements in shady deals. The list goes on and on.

As I write this, President Barack Obama is attending an event in Africa to promise our enemies even more cuts in our nuclear arsenal while they will not reciprocate. I’m told on good authority that this trip by our “high roller” president will cost the American taxpayers $100 million while Americans remain unemployed and hurting. I am still proud to be an American, whether Barack and Michelle are or not.

If we Americans don’t get our heads out of the sand, America is lost. I just hope it’s not already too late. May Almighty God have mercy on us all.
