Scoreboard: Nine-run inning sparks comeback win for Gainesville

The Lady Red Elephants softball team scored nine runs in the bottom of the seventh inning in their 13-12 comeback win against the Lady War Eagles on Thursday at Lanier Point.

Gracie McGarity hit a three run double to win the game for Gainesville (6-10, 2-4 7B-AAA). McGarity had two hits and four RBI’s in the game. Shakeela Griffin, Chelsey Smith, Natalie Allen, Emily Windhorst, and Andy Allen each had three hits for Gainesville. Caitlin Ludwig and Maggie Norton also added two hits each for the Lady Red Elephants.

Gainesville’s JV also came from behind to win their game 9-8.

Gainesville was scheduled to play in the Buford Invitational Tournament last night.

VOLLEYBALL

Habersham Central scores two wins (Thursday)

The Lady Raiders defeated East Hall and East Jackson Thursday in Valhalla.

In the first game, Against East Hall, Jaclyn Campbell had 7 kills and an ace. Chelsea Smith had 4 kills and Haley White had 11 assists.

Against East Jackson, Megan Rowland had 8 aces and 3 kills and Jaclyn Campbell had 3 aces and 2 kills.
