Macon Symphony Orchestra principal flutist Candace Keach will present “Americana,” a recital of music for Native American and Asian wooden flutes, silver flutes and singing bowls at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 15, at Buford First United Methodist Church, 285 E. Main St., in Buford. Pennsylvanian Russell Ferrara will accompany Keach on the classical guitar and synthesizer enabled guitars.

The concert is sponsored by Childbloom Northeast Georgia and its 2013 Summer Camp. For tickets, visit or call Childbloom GNE at 678-889-2177.

The program features music of Georgia native Sidney Lanier, Virginian Justin Holland and New Englander Gwyneth Walker rounded out with originals and Ferrara’s classical guitar arrangements of instrumental rock. Blending the composed with the improvised, the ancient with the modern and the acoustic with the electronic, Keach and Ferrara attempt to reflect the restless spirit of American creativity and foster it in children and adults alike.
