POSTED: June 7, 2013 12:11 a.m.

The Hall County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday released a sketch of a suspect in a May 23 shooting at Wayne Wilson Pottery in Lula.

A $5,000 reward is also being offered by the victim’s family for information that leads to an arrest and conviction, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.

Laurien Marsh of Gainesville was shot just behind the ear in front of the business where she works at 4390 Cornelia Highway, off Ga. 365 an near Ga. 52.

She pulled up to the store and a woman pulled behind her in an older model, small, maroon SUV. The woman approached her, demanded her purse and then shot her once, according to the sheriff’s office.

Marsh was flown to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta but is now at home recovering.

The suspect is described as a small-framed white woman who, at the time, was wearing sunglasses, a dark jacket, a ball cap and brandishing a handgun.

Investigator Jason Egerton with the sheriff’s office said authorities are still following up on leads and have little other information they can release.

The suspect took Marsh’s wallet, he said. Egerton said authorities are still looking into whether the suspect followed Marsh from Gainesville, which Marsh had told a witness, according to the incident report.
