Riverbend Elementary School’s Little Free Library was unveiled at the May 17 assembly and students were instructed on how to use the little library.

All Hall County Schools will have a Little Free Library where students and parents can borrow, read and return books. This is part of an international community movement to encourage reading.

Students Clara Vander Hoven, Regan Spinks, Hunter Pierce, Mandy Baker, Halle Pierce and Carina Shanks tripled their Accelerated Reader Goal for the year. Based on that accomplishment, the six students had the honor of decorating the Little Free Library.

The Little Free Library is also part of Hall County’s Summer Reading Program. Summer reading helps students continue to improve their reading skills.

Students at Riverbend also will have the opportunity to check out books from the Reading Rocket bookmobile from 12:30 to 1:15 p.m. Tuesdays at Baker Glover Subdivision. Riverbend Elementary’s library is open from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesdays in June and July except for the week of the fourth of July.
