The Frances Meadows Aquatic Center opens today for the summer season.

Several preseason swims gave center staff practice for the expected crowds, said recreation program manager Chris Minor.

“Once you’re open (for the public), it’s full go,” he said.

Admission is $6 for Hall County residents, $8 for others, free for age 2 and younger and age 60 and older get $2 off.

Season passes also are offered. The center offers a Splash Zone with slides and interactive features, along with indoor pools. The Splash Zone is open 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. More details are available on the center’s website, www.gainesville.org/frances-meadows.
