11-year-old injured in four-wheeler accident identified

POSTED: May 15, 2013 1:01 a.m.

The Georgia State Patrol on Tuesday identified the 11-year-old boy who was injured Sunday afternoon in a four-wheeler accident in West Hall as Lanny Charles Dunagan.

Lanny was riding through a grassy area at a home off Ga. 53/Dawsonville Highway when he tried to turn left and lost control of the vehicle, said Tracey Watson of the Georgia Department of Public Safety.

The boy was thrown from the vehicle as it “overturned numerous times down a hill,” Watson said.

A Hall County emergency crew responded to the wreck, which took place at 5:45 p.m. in the 2500 block of Dawsonville Highway, Fire Chief David Kimbrell said Monday.

Lanny was flown by medical helicopter to the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite in Atlanta, Watson said.

A hospital spokeswoman said Tuesday the hospital didn’t have a record of the boy still at the hospital, and Watson didn’t know the child’s condition.
