High school scoreboard: April 20

Garrett Bishop finished with two hits, drove in three RBIs and also scored a run for East Hall in a 14-4 win against West Hall on Saturday in Gainesville. Hunter Buffington had two hits and scored four runs for East Hall.

Triston Cooper and Matthew Gee each scored twice for the Vikings.  For West Hall, Brian Newman had two hits and also scored a run.

East Hall visits Banks County at 5:55 p.m. Monday, while West Hall plays host to Buford.

LAKEVIEW ACADEMY 9, PRINCE AVENUE 2: Sophomore Dakota Chalmers struck out 15 batters for Lakeview Academy on Saturday in Gainesville. Ted Reynolds added a double and two singles for the Lions (12-8, 10-7 Region 8-A), while Christopher Ball went 2 for 2 with two runs driven in.

Lakeview Academy plays host to Riverside Military at 4:30 p.m. Monday in Gainesville.

Golf
LADY RED ELEPHANTS TAKE SECOND: The Gainesville High girls golf team finished second at the Brookwood Invitational on Saturday in Lilburn. Morgan Reece carded an 81 for Gainesville and earned top five individual honors.

Also for the Lady Red Elephants, Ashleigh Bishop shot an 84, Meg Callahan finished with an 87 and Madeline Harr carded an 88.

Gainesville next plays in the Region 8-AAAAA championship on Thursday at Chattahoochee in Gainesville.

Soccer
NORTH GEORGIA CHRISTIAN GIRLS 3, WESTMINSTER CHRISTIAN 1: After trailing 1-0 early, the Lady Chargers rallied back with goals from Esther Lloyd, Rachel MacLagan and Sarah Rhodes for victory on Saturday in Athens.

North Georgia faces Unity Christian Academy on Monday at the Allen Creek Soccer Complex in Gainesville.

JOHNSON BOYS 4, STEPHENS COUNTY 1 (FRIDAY): Fabian Abarca scored twice with an assist for the Knights (13-2-2, 7-1 Region 8-AAAA) on Friday in Oakwood.

Jonathan Mendoza had a goal and an assist for Johnson, while Israel Avila added another goal.  Johnson visits Riverside Military at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in Gainesville.
