Jackson Electric Membership Cooperative reported more than 7,000 Hall County customers were without power Thursday after a line of thunderstorms moved through the area.

Three circuits in the Spout Springs area were out, according to Jackson EMC spokeswoman Bonnie Jones, affecting 5,007 customers in the areas of Thompson Mill Road, Friendship Road, Sterling on the Lake, Spout Springs Road, Union Chruch Road and Eagle Ranch.

Two circuits affecting 2,005 customers were out in the East Hall areas of Gillsville Highway, Coker Road, Gaines Mill Road and Cedar Creek Road.

An abandoned house on Thompson Bridge Road at Spring View Drive in Gainesville was struck by lightning, said Sgt. Stephen Wilbanks, spokesman for the Hall County Sheriff’s Office. He reported another home had been damaged by high winds, but said there were no reports of injuries.
