The second annual Giant Book Sale is scheduled for Thursday through Sunday in the Westminster Presbyterian Church gymnasium, 1397 Thompson Bridge Road, Gainesville.

The event is sponsored by Friends of Hall County Public Library System and Our Neighbor Inc., which will benefit from the proceeds.

More than 20,000 gently used books and audiovisual materials will be available. Everything, except for collectibles, will be priced under $5, with many items at $1. Cash, checks and credit cards will be accepted.

Young readers can find picture books, fairy tales, science, crafts, history, biography and many popular young adult authors. Adult nonfiction books will be sorted by subject for easy browsing, and fiction is sorted by author. Volunteers will be on hand to help shoppers find the book they seek.

The preview sale runs from 6-9 p.m. Thursday for $5 admission. The regular sale is 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, followed by the “fire sale” from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.
