Prep scoreboard: Elephants, Falcons take big victories

North Hall, Chestatee, White County, Buford all win

Gainesville High quarterback Justin Fordham threw four touchdown passes Friday night to lead the Red Elephants (6-3) to a 34-18 victory over rival Johnson at Billy Ellis Field in Oakwood.

In other final scores Friday:

Flowery Branch 52, Pickens 0: Senior quarterback Jaybo Shaw led the Falcons (7-1) with four touchdown passes and two touchdown runs.

Buford 58, Cross Keys 0: Buford tailback Demetris Murray hauled in a 23-yard pass from Wolves' quarterback Twoey Hosch moments into the first quarter. Murray leads Buford (8-0) with two touchdowns. Hosch later connected with Melvin Harris on a 7-yard touchdown pass, giving the Wolves an early 28-0 lead. With a running clock, Buford added two more touchdowns in the second quarter. The Wolves added two touchdowns in the second half, led by a 31-yard touchdown run by Storm Johnson.

North Hall 56, Lumpkin County 9: The No. 3-ranked Trojans (8-0) cruised past the Indians for their eight consecutive victory.

White County 28, East Hall 7: Senior quarterback Tyler Norman connected with Ashely Lowery on a 39-yard touchdown pass in the third quarter as the Warriors improved to 5-3. East Hall fell to 0-8.
