I have been a boater since age 14. Now 66, I have seen just about everything that can happen while boating.

Living here on Lake Lanier, I am much saddened to hear about the loss of life and injuries that have been reported over the last few years. As I understand, the current laws and regulations being passed is a step in the right direction.

However, the lights provided by the boat manufacturers consist of one small green light and one small red light on the front and one small white light on the back. With boats today, the speeds match our highway speeds, and at night, this is a serious problem as many of us boaters know first hand.

We need better lighting from the manufacturer. And we should urge all boaters to up grade their lighting to LED.
