A March 19 arraignment is set for an Atlanta man charged in the Lake Lanier boating incident that killed an 11-year-old boy in July.

Jeffrey Simon Hubbard, who was released Thursday on $10,000 bail, is charged with homicide by vessel in the first degree, reckless operation of a vessel, unlawful operation of a personal watercraft, boat traffic violation and serious injury by vessel.

He was indicted Feb. 28 by a Hall County grand jury and arrested the following day by Georgia Department of Natural Resources officers.

At the arraignment, Hubbard will enter a plea to the charges.

Kile Glover suffered severe brain injuries on July 6 when authorities believe Hubbard’s personal watercraft collided with the boy.

Kile was on an inflatable raft with a teenage girl, who was injured in the incident.

He was the son of entertainer Usher’s ex-wife, Tameka Raymond, and Ryan Glover, an executive for Bounce TV.

Law enforcement officials said Hubbard was in violation of the “100-foot law,” which mandates that drivers of boats and personal watercraft not operate at more than idle speed within 100 feet of a sitting object or a person in the water.
