Play suspended at Hall County golf championships

POSTED: March 11, 2013 8:37 p.m.

The first day of the Hall County golf championships at Royal Lakes Golf Course was suspended before completion Monday due to inclement weather.

Tournament play will resume at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at Royal Lakes. All golfers marked their ball spots and will pick up in the same place.

The 26th annual tournament, which features a boys and girls competition for all Hall County teams, was originally scheduled to play nine holes each day. Most teams were reaching the halfway point of the first nine holes before play was suspended. They will complete the rest of the course today.

Gainesville is the defending champion in both the boys and girls tournaments.
