After winning five straight games to reach the postseason for the first time since 2009, the North Georgia women’s basketball team fell Sunday in the finals of the Peach Belt Conference Championships at Columbus State University.
The 81-54 loss to top-ranked Clayton State (29-0) ends the season for the Lady Saints (14-15).
Gainesville grad Jaymee Carnes and Mimi Hill were named to the all-tournament team. Carnes finished the tournament averaging 16.3 points and 8.7 rebounds per game; Hill averaged 17.3 and 8.0.
