Less than 24 hours after a woman was killed in a wreck involving a Forsyth County school bus, another county bus was involved in a collision.

The wreck, which happened at about 8:30 a.m. Friday, involved three vehicles on Pilgrim Mill Road.

A bus carrying students was struck from behind by one sport utility vehicle that was hit by another. The drivers of both vehicles were students at Forsyth Central High School.

Forsyth County Fire Division Chief Jason Shivers said one of the 22 students on board was treated for minor injuries and released to a parent. The driver of one of the two vehicles involved also received minor injuries.

No one else was injured, Shivers said.

The cause of the wreck is under investigation.

The earlier wreck Thursday afternoon killed a 43-year-old Forsyth County woman and involved three vehicles, including the school bus. The collision, which disrupted the evening commute around Cumming, occurred about 4:50 p.m. at Ga. 9 and North Old Atlanta and Hutchinson roads, south of the city.

The woman, who the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office identified as Lesia Elaine Bennett, was driving a Ford Explorer that was struck by a Nissan Titan at the intersection.

That impact forced the sport utility vehicle into a school bus, which was stopped at the traffic light while en route north on the highway.

There were no students on the bus, said Karleen Chalker with the sheriff’s office, and neither of the other vehicles had passengers.

Bennett was pronounced dead at Northside Hospital-Forsyth, where she was taken after the crash, Chalker said.

According to the sheriff’s office, the 17-year-old male driver of the Nissan, Antonio Aguilera Mora, suffered “minimal injuries” and also was taken to the hospital. The bus driver wasn’t hurt.
