Dawsonville's Bowen wins Asian Development Tour event

POSTED: March 6, 2013 7:28 p.m.

Dawsonville native James Bowen closed with a one-under-par 71 to win the Asian Development Tour (ADT) PGM Sime Darby Harvard Masters on Saturday in Malaysia.

The win is Bowen’s first professional win since turning pro in 2008. Bowen’s final day’s score card was marked by three birdies and two bogeys.

Victory came courtesy of his four-day total of 18-under-par 270, which was especially sweet for Bowen as has missed the cut at the Asian Tour Qualifying School Final Stage last month.

The top three players at the end of the ADT season will earn their Asian Tour cards for 2014, and world-ranking points gained on the ADT will help determine the field when golf returns to the Olympics in 2016.
