Sigmon to head oncology department at Northeast Georgia Medical Center

Northeast Georgia Medical Center has named Todd Sigmon as executive director of oncology for the Cancer Center.

Sigmon recently served for six years as vice president of Operations for East Texas Medical Center in Tyler, Texas, where he was responsible for the oncology program and several other departments. Prior to joining ETMC, he served as director of Cancer Services at Duke Raleigh Hospital in Raleigh, N.C., and director of Seacoast Cancer Center in Dover, N.H. He served on state panels for cancer care in both New Hampshire and North Carolina.

Sigmon has also served on the governance boards for the American Cancer Society, Hospice of East Texas and Susan G. Komen Foundation, as well as serving as an officer with the East Texas Chapter of the American College of Healthcare Executives.

A native of Mount Pleasant, S.C., Sigmon received his undergraduate degree from the University of South Carolina and his master’s degree from the Medical University of South Carolina. He and his wife, Christine, live in North Hall with their two children.

Lanier Tech, Sapa Extruder cited for commuter options

The Clean Air Campaign has chosen two Hall County employers among 91 as partners for cleaner air and better commute options for employees through Georgia Commute Options.

Lanier Technical College in Oakwood and Sapa Extruder Inc. in Gainesville were among the companies cited for their efforts to improve mobility and air quality by supporting alternatives to driving alone, including carpool, vanpool, telework, transit, bicycle and walking options.

Georgia Commute Options is a joint effort between the Georgia Department of Transportation, The Clean Air Campaign, Atlanta Regional Commission and the region’s transportation management associations that helps commuters and employers take advantage of commute alternatives. Industrial Depot names Donovan head of marketing

The Industrial Depot in Gainesville has named Carol Donovan marketing director.

Donovan has more than 20 years of professional sales and marketing experience in the automotive and motorsports industries to The Industrial Depot team.

She will be responsible for managing local marketing efforts as well as maintaining the company’s online Web store. She also will manage marketing partnerships with popular TV Shows “Overhaulin,” “Search & Restore,” “Muscle Car,” “Extreme 4X4,” “Trucks” and “Power Block TV.”
