The Gainesville, North Hall and Buford high school boys basketball teams all defeated their opponents in the quarterfinals of the state tournament on Wednesday night.
The Red Elephants beat New Manchester 60-58 to advance to the Class AAAAA semifinals on Saturday at Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw.
Buford defeated Woodward Academy 60-54, and North Hall beat St. Pius X 51-44.
Both North Hall and Buford advance to the Class AAA semifinals on Saturday at Armstrong Atlantic State University in Savannah.
