Two people died Friday in one-vehicle wreck

Two Cleveland residents died Friday in a wreck off Asbury Mill Road, which is near Ga. 115/Dahlonega Highway southwest of Cleveland.

Destiny Ann Compton, 20, was driving a Toyota T-100 pickup truck at 2:30 p.m., when she ran off the road and down an embankment, according to the Georgia State Patrol.

The vehicle then overturned.

Compton, who was not wearing a seat belt, was thrown from the vehicle. She died at the scene, according to the state patrol.

A rear-seat passenger, Justin Crippen, 17, died of injuries at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville. Three other passengers also were injured.
