Miss Mary Susan Herrington and Mr. Christopher Charles McNeal were united in marriage at 4 p.m. Nov. 17, 2012, at Wesley United Methodist Church in Saint Simons Island, Ga. The bride is the daughter of Ms. Katherine Hood Herrington and Mr. and Mrs. Tony Herrington of Gainesville. The groom is the son of Ms. Harriett Dean McNeal of Gainesville, the late Mr. Dan McNeal and Martha McNeal of Pendergrass.

The Rev. Wendy Cordova performed the ceremony. Organist Beth Humber and vocalists Chelsea Carr and Casey Ryals presented a program of wedding music.

The bride was presented in marriage by her father. The bride’s friend Mrs. Alli Ryals of Gainesville was matron of honor. The bride’s friend Miss Secrest Mincey of Gainesville was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were the bride’s friends Miss Molly Powell of Gainesville, Miss Amanda Sheidy of Gainesville, Miss Joy Thurman of Gainesville, Mrs. Sarah Williams of Gainesville, Mrs. Laney Park of Gainesville, Mrs. Julie Oliver of Gainesville, Mrs. Chelsea Carr of Jacksonville, Fla., and Miss Shanna Cochran of Free Home, Ga. The junior bridesmaid was the bride’s cousin, Miss Elle Wilkins of Saint Simons Island, Ga. The groom’s nieces Miss Kristin McNeal and Miss Lily McNeal of Clarksville, Tenn., were the flower girls.

The groom’s brother, Capt. Matthew McNeal of Clarksville, Tenn., was the best man. Groomsmen were the groom’s friends Mr. William V. Peeples of Gainesville, Mr. Emory G. Stroberg of Gainesville, Mr. Robert P. Rogers of Gainesville, Mr. W. Donald Short of Gainesville, Mr. Drew C. Addison of Gainesville, Mr. Stuart W. Moore of Gainesville, Mr. David J. Harris of London, Ky., Mr. Druery R. Callihan of Smyrna, Ga., and Mr. Kyle R. Short of Atlanta. The bride’s cousins Masters Jack and Luke Wilkins of Atlanta and Master David Wilkins of Saint Simons Island, Ga., were the ring bearers.

The bride carried handkerchiefs given to her by her mother and maternal grandparents.

The groom’s mother Ms. Harriett Dean McNeal gave a rehearsal dinner at King and Prince Beach and Golf Resort in Saint Simons Island on the eve of the wedding.

The bride’s family gave a reception at Villa de Suenos in Saint Simons Island following the ceremony.

Following a honeymoon to Jamaica, the couple will reside in Gainesville.
