Man sentenced to life on child sex charges

A man was sentenced to life in prison with a mandatory 25 years in Hall County last week on child sex charges.

Esteban Mosqueda-Romero was convicted by a jury on Feb. 15 and sentenced by Judge Bonnie Oliver for aggravated child molestation, aggravated sexual battery and three counts of child molestation.

The 2009 incident involved a four-year victim who was 7 at the time of her testimony at trial, District Attorney Lee Darragh said.

“The defendant being 62 years old, he’s not likely to ever be released,” Darragh said.

Wanda Vance was lead counsel for the state.
