Gainesville High grad David Gonzalez made his first career start for the Georgia Bulldogs as the baseball team dropped a 2-1 decision to Kennesaw State University on Wednesday in Athens. Gonzalez opened the game by striking out Kennesaw’s Jacob Bruce.

He pitched 3 1/3 innings with two strikeouts before Blake Dieterich relieved him in the fourth. The Bulldogs (1-3) return to action in a doubleheader against Belmont at 1 p.m. Saturday in Athens.
