Mr. Kirk K. Fuller and Mrs. Linda B. Fuller of Cary, N.C. announce the engagement of their daughter Miss Alexandra Alyse Fuller to Mr. John Alexander Thompson, son of Mr. John P. Thompson and Mrs. Terry T. Thompsonof Gainesville.The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Anthony J. Beatrice of Beaufort, S.C., and the late Dr. and Mrs. H. Fleming Fuller of Kinston, N.C.

She graduated in 2010 from Appalachian State University with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology. She received a master’s degree at University of North Carolina-Charlotte in 2012. She is employed as a volunteer at Alzheimer’s Association-Georgia Chapter in Atlanta.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. E. Alexander Taylor of Gainesville, and the late Mr. Richard N. Thompson and Mrs. Leta Thompson of Kalkaska, Mich.

He graduated in 2009 from Appalachian State University with a bachelor’s degree in history. He received a master’s degree at North Georgia College & State University in 2012. He is a doctoral student in history, Ph.D., at Georgia State University in Atlanta.

The couple plan to wed June 22, 2013, at North Carolina Museum of Art in Raleigh, N.C.
