Violinist Sasha Ferreira will perform a free concert at 5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 10, at Grace Episcopal Church in Gainesville.

The concert will feature selections for solo violin, along with a rendering of the complete “Suite for Violin and Organ” by Josef Rheinberger.

Ferreira began his violin studies in Cuba and Peru. He moved to the United States in 2007 and obtained his master of music degree in violin performance at the University of Southern Mississippi and his doctoral degree in violin and viola performance from The University of Georgia.

Ferreira currently teaches at the Gulfport, Miss., School District. He performs with the Mobile, Ala., Symphony Orchestra and the Pensacola, Fla., Symphony Orchestra.
