Dunkin’ Donuts may be coming soon to Ga. 400 just north of the North Georgia Premium Outlets.
The national doughnut chain has submitted plans to build on about 2.38 acres at the southwest intersection of Ga. 400 and Industrial Park Road.
“This has been a two-year process,” said Charlie Auvermann, executive director of the Development Authority of Dawson County. “We are very excited to have a nationally known chain come to Dawson County.”
The new franchise is part of the Massachusetts-based company’s long-range strategy to expand along the Ga. 400 corridor, which has generated a renewed interest by commercial and industrial scouts in recent months.
“If you look back at 2012 there were a number of businesses that opened in our county and most have been very successful,” he said.
“These are people with a belief in this country and this county. This new franchise is certainly an example of that faith.”
The doughnut shop is expected to bring about 20 new jobs to the county.
