Forsyth County revises terms of ambulance deal

Change shaves thousands of dollars off original plan

POSTED: January 23, 2013 11:59 p.m.

Forsyth County scaled back the raise for its ambulance service provider during a work session Tuesday.

The county’s board of commissioners voted 5-0 to grant Advanced Ambulance a one-time additional 5 percent increase this year on top of its standard annual 3 percent hike.

After that, the company will receive only the agreed-upon annual increase for the duration of the five-year contract, County Attorney Ken Jarrard said.

The agreement trims the amount the county will pay Advanced Ambulance for 2013 by $19,000, from nearly $67,000 to $48,000.
