A 20-year-old Gainesville man is scheduled for arraignment Jan. 8 after being indicted Dec. 19 on 17 counts of felony child sex abuse charges, according to court documents.

The charges against Rusty Duane Alan Kempf stem from incidents involving four female victims from October 2011 to last July, all between the ages of 13 and 15, Wilbanks said.

One victim came forward in July and Kempf was arrested and subsequently bonded out, Wilbanks said.

But the investigation led to the other victims, and Kempf was indicted by the grand jury on the remaining charges.

Wilbanks reported that most of the incidents happened in Kempf’s home in East Hall, which he shares with a family member.

The indictment alleges that Kempf abused the first victim sometime between Sept. 1, 2011, and Oct. 27, 2011, and is charged with two counts of aggravated child molestation and two counts of child molestation in those incidents.

The second victim was allegedly abused between May 15, 2011, and Dec. 31, 2011.

Kempf faces two counts of aggravated child molestation, two counts of child molestation and one count of rape in those incidents.

The third victim was allegedly abused between Sept. 1, 2011, and Oct. 15, 2011.

One count of aggravated child molestation, one count of child molestation, one count of rape, one count of statutory rape and one count of attempted aggravated child molestation were alleged in connection with that victim.

The indictment lists the most recent incident as occurring this past summer, sometime between June 1 and July 19.

Those charges are one count of aggravated child molestation, one count of child molestation and one count of statutory rape.

A Facebook page that appears to belong to Kempf says he went to East Hall High School.

A long-since-updated Myspace page, which appeared to also be created by Kempf, indicated he was kicked out of the school around Thanksgiving.

Due to a source's error, a previous version of this story included an incorrect number for the total charges.
