The Citizens of Georgia Power recently donated $2,500 to the Guest House, a nonprofit adult day health care center that works with Alzheimer’s and dementia patients.

The Citizens of Georgia Power is a volunteer organization of Georgia Power employees that work with nonprofit organizations and charities for one-time projects or on an ongoing basis. The local group has 62 members. Its activities are funded internally through shareholder support.

“We are appreciative of the donation and are excited about working on future projects with the Citizens of Georgia Power,” Guest House Executive Director Dana Chapman said. “It is a great example of a company and its employees giving their money and their time to help the community.”

The Guest House provides elderly clients with mentally stimulating activities and medical monitoring in a safe environment, while giving family members a break from their care-giving duties.
