Flowery Branch freshman Jake Shewbert, a member of Lake Lanier Running Club, placed 16th in the Junior Olympic National Championship youth boys division 4-Kilometer race on Dec. 8 in Albuquerque, N.M.

Shewbert finished the event in 13 minutes, 40.22 seconds — 57 seconds behind the first-place finisher.
