James and Anne Mewborne of Gainesville celebrated their 50th anniversary on Aug. 5, 2012. The couple celebrated with their family at Chattahoochee County Club Aug. 4. They renewed their vows at the First United Methodist Church Chapel on their anniversary. Their son presided over the ceremony.

The couple have four children, Kimberly M. Strube, Patricia M. Baudin, James H. Mewborne III and John S. Mewborne, and 13 grandchildren.
