Chris and Cindy Thompson of Gainesville announce the engagement of their daughter Jessica Hope Thompson to Zachery Jordan McClain, son of Stanley and Debbie Stephens of Gainesville.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Dick and Judy Mecum of Gainesville, Scott and Linda Strickland of Gainesville, and Roland and Jan Shackelford of Monticello.

She is a 2007 graduate of North Hall High School in Gainesville. She graduated in 2011 from Brenau University with a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education. She is employed as a teacher at New Holland Core Knowledge Academy in Gainesville.

The groom-elect is the grandson of David and Nancy McClain of Gainesville, and Linda Stephens and the late Robert Stephens.

He is a 2006 graduate of North Hall High School in Gainesville. He graduated in 2011 from North Georgia College & State University with a bachelor’s degree in business management. He is employed by Hamilton State Bank.

The couple plan to wed March 30, 2013, at Lakewood Baptist Church in Gainesville.
