Murrayville stabbing victim released from hospital

Sheriff’s office has no suspects in incident

A stabbing victim has been released from the hospital after an altercation Sunday, Hall County sheriff’s officials said.

Jacob Diemer, 19, of Murrayville was transferred to Gwinnett Medical Center that night with nonlife-threatening injuries.

“The investigators are still trying to get the story straight with all the people who have been involved,” said Sgt. Kiley Sargent, spokesman for the sheriff’s office. “Not to say there have been discrepancies in the story, but just trying to sort everything out.”

Sgt. Stephen Wilbanks said Sunday that a man approached residents sitting on a porch and asked for a cigarette. At some point an argument began, turned physical and Diemer was stabbed in the abdominal area, Wilbanks said.

The suspect ran from the scene — the 6000 block of Glenn-Burtz Road, off Yellow Creek Road — and deputies were unable to find him, Wilbanks said.

No one is in custody now and there no suspects, Sargent said.
