Hundreds of people received a late Thanksgiving meal Saturday at the John Paul II Center, 177 Atlanta Highway in Gainesville.

Though it was two days after Thanksgiving, the holiday's spirit of gratitude and fellowship was still alive as about 600 gathered to eat and help serve the meals. The event also featured traditional Mexican dancing.
