Ms. Elizabeth Marie Patterson and Mr. Barton Lane Mellott were united in marriage at 5:45 p.m. Sept. 29, 2012, at Christ United Methodist Church in Chapel Hill, N.C. The bride is the daughter of Mr. Roger Dennis Patterson and Mrs. Faith Rooks Patterson of Pullman, Wash. The groom is the son of Mr. Calvin Mellott Jr. and Mrs. Robin Mellott of Chapel Hill, N.C.

The Rev. Shay Hall performed the ceremony. Organist Dr. Daniel Steinert presented a program of wedding music.
The bride was presented in marriage by her father. The bride’s sister Ms. Renee’ Leonard of Greensboro, N.C., was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were the bride’s cousins Ms. Kristen Cowart of Cartersville, Ms. Katie Rooks of Gainesville, bride’s friend Ms. Emily May of Durham, N.C., and the groom’s sister Ms. Camille Mellott of Chapel Hill, N.C. The bride’s niece Miss Evelyn Leonard and groom’s cousins Miss Victoria Meiners and Miss Elizabeth Meiners of Fairview, N.C., were the flower girls.

The groom’s father and groom’s friend Mr. Graham Visser of Chapel Hill, N.C., were the best men. Groomsmen were the groom’s brother Mr. Rowe Mellott of Chapel Hill, N.C., and the groom’s friends Mr. John Mott of Lumberton, N.C. and Mr. Sutton Mott of Lumberton, N.C.

Ms. Cathy Hall was the wedding coordinator.

The bride carried a sixpence given to her by her paternal grandmother.

The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Top of the Hill in Chapel Hill, N.C., on the eve of the wedding.

The bride’s parents hosted a reception at Chapel Hill Country Club in Chapel Hill, N.C., following the ceremony.

Following a honeymoon to St. Lucia, the couple will reside in Chapel Hill, N.C.
