The Gwinnett Braves have hired Randy Ready as the team’s new manager the club announced Friday.
Ready, a veteran of 13 seasons as a major league player and three as a major league hitting coach, is set to become the second manager in G-Braves history dating back to 2009.
Ready joins the Braves organization after spending the 2012 season as the minor league hitting coordinator for the Texas Rangers. Prior to joining the Rangers, he served as the hitting coach for the San Diego Padres from July of 2009 through the 2011 season.
