The Hall County Sheriff’s Office and Northeast Georgia’s Georgia State Patrol Troop B both placed second in their respective categories at the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety’s annual Governor’s Challenge Awards.
The event, held Friday at the Macon Centreplex, is designed to award achievements in highway safety enforcement and education, according to a press release.
The sheriff’s office won second in the 251-500 officer category. The state patrol troop won second in the patrol category.
“The agencies that win a Governor’s Challenge Award have gone the extra mile not only in their enforcement activities, but the professionalism in their work,” GOHS Law Enforcement Services Director Ricky Rich said. “We look forward to recognizing them every year for their efforts to keep our local roads and state highways as safe as possible.”
