The North Georgia College & State University women’s soccer team defeated Wingate University 4-1 in the first round of the NCAA Division II Women’s Soccer Tournament on Friday in Savannah.
North Georgia’s Abby Trevino recorded two of the Saints’ four goals on the afternoon, and Megan Morrow and Cicely Taliaferro each added a goal to secure the win.
Mallory Sayre recorded three saves in goal for the Saints.
North Georgia (15-4-2) returns to action against No. 1 Armstrong Atlantic State University in the second round of the NCAA Tournament at 1 p.m. on Sunday in Savannah.
