Commerce falls to Pinecrest Academy, 31-21

POSTED: November 9, 2012 5:51 p.m.

Commerce fell to Pinecrest Academy 31-21 on Friday in Cumming.

Commerce now awaits its playoff fate as its eligibility will be determined by GHSA power ratings that will be released at the beginning of next week.

The Tigers generated 438 total yards of offense in the game, and Terrick Ramsey had 174 yards and 18 and 42-yard touchdowns on 23 carries. Commerce scored late in the game on a 3-yard pass from Daniel Streetman to Jamir Walton to pull within 10, but that would be it.

Commerce turned the ball over three times in the second quarter, all leading to Pinecrest touchdowns. The Tigers had five total turnovers in the game.

If the GHSA rates Commerce in the top 16 Class A public schools, the Tigers will head to the postseason for the 16th straight year. If not, their season is over.
