Firefighters battled three "spot fires" Monday afternoon off Ga. 53 between the first bridge west of Gainesville and Sardis Road.
Hall County Fire Marshal Scott Cagle said that units responding included three Hall County fire engines, a rescue vehicle and tanker truck. The Gainesville Fire Department and Georgia Forestry Commission assisted.
Motorists called 911 to report the fires at 1:48 p.m.
No structures were damaged; however, traffic was temporarily stopped in the area.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
