As the trial continues for a mother facing charges related to her 18-month-old’s June 2011 death, the prosecution continues to build its case.

Deanna Renee Kipp is on trial for one count of malice murder, four counts of felony murder, four counts of cruelty to a child in the first degree, two counts of providing false statements to police and one count each of aggravated assault, cruelty to a child in the second degree and concealing the death of another.

In August, Superior Court Judge Andrew Fuller sentenced Stephen Clark West, Deanna Kipp’s boyfriend, to life in prison without the possibility of parole, plus 20 years, in the death of Kaylee Kipp.

On Friday, prosecutors submitted the Pack ‘N Play playpen of Kaylee as evidence, including the mattress and Kaylee’s blanket.

Both had stains that tested positive for blood, Gainesville Police Department investigators said.

A pair of denim shorts, found in the master bedroom of the Kipp’s apartment, also had stains that tested positive for blood.

Earlier this week, the prosecution previously brought up Kipp’s demeanor after she found out about Kaylee’s death.
The trial will continue next week.
