Lakeview boys' cross country headed to state meet

The Lakeview boys’ cross country team secured a berth to the Class A state championships with a third-place finish in the Region 8-A meet on Thursday in Athens. Lewis Brooks led the team with a seventh-place finish with a time of 17 minutes, 54 seconds.

Dalton Snyder finished in 11th with a time of 18:19, and Dustin Snyder came in 16th with an 18:35. Grant Hocker came in 26th with a 19:20, and Kyle Lewis was 31st with a time of 19:39. Clint Walker finished in 37th place with a 20:30, and Joe Pennington rounded out the team with a 21:10 to finish 43rd.

The Lions will run in the state meet on Nov. 1 in Macon.
