Hall County Schools Superintendent Will Schofield announced his recommendation for the next principal at Chestnut Mountain School of Creative Inquiry during Monday’s Hall County Board of Education meeting.

Wade Pearce, who is currently serving as the head of schools at Eagle Ranch in the Chestnut Mountain area, will fill the position left by Sabrina May, who is retiring.

“One of the most important things we do is hire principals for our buildings,” said Schofield. “I am excited that he’s accepted the position.”

Pearce will start next summer.

Pearce brings to the position 22 years of experience in education, with six years as a teacher and 16 years as an administrator.

“Wade and his family have been active in the Chestnut Mountain community for the past 15 years,” said Schofield in a press release. “He is a servant leader of unquestionable integrity, has a passion for supporting young people and their families and understands the potential of creative inquiry, which underpins your local charter.”

Hall County is still in the process of filling the principal position at White Sulphur Elementary School as well.

“We’re still in the middle of that process and I’m not ready, at the time of Monday’s meeting, to make (a) recommendation,” said Schofield.
