Riverside Military Academy rallied to beat Social Circle 35-34 on Friday night in Social Circle.
Riverside’s Collin Pettell completed a hook-and-lateral pass to JeJuan McCalston to Elijah Holyfield for the touchdown with three minutes remaining in the game. Holyfield then took the two-point conversion in for the Eagles (1-6, 1-4 Region 8-AA).
Holyfield finished the game with 132 yards rushing and two touchdowns, and Adrian Humphrey recorded 172 yards rushing and a pair of scores.
The win was Gary Downs’ first win as the Eagles’ head coach.
Riverside plays host to Glascock County next Friday in Gainesville.
