About 300 people were on hand Wednesday as the Belk at Lakeshore Mall in Gainesville held its grand reopening after remodeling.
Lisa Lassiter, regional store manager, said the ribbon-cutting event “went great.”
The remodeling project, which began in July, included a host of changes.
“It was $1.8 million project that remodeled the ladies’ shoe department, fashion accessories department, remodeled the cosmetic department,” Lassiter said.
The ladies’ store also received new carpet and floor tile as well as renovated fitting rooms and rest rooms.
“(Customers will) benefit from the expanded vendors that we have,” Lassiter said. “They’ll come to the Gainesville store instead of having to go to the Mall of Georgia or other locations.”
Lassiter said so far customer feedback has been great.
