The Piedmont College men’s soccer team fell 2-0 to Talladega College on Wednesday in Demorest.

Augusto Maciel tallied an unassisted goal in the game’s 16th minute and Jose Luis Rodriguez added the insurance goal at the 61:22 mark, while teammate Esteban Pastrana recorded the shutout in goal turning away two Piedmont shots.

Piedmont (4-6-1) travels to Maryville on Saturday in Maryville, Tenn.

NORTH GEORGIA WOMEN BEAT MONTEVALLO: Kelly Penston scored twice for the Saints to lead them to a 4-1 conference win over the University of Montevallo on Wednesday in Dahlonega.

Kayla Croom and Abby Trevino also scored for North Georgia (9-2, 2-2 Peach Belt Conference), and Mallory Sayre made three saves.

The Saints travel to Georgia Southwestern on Saturday in Americus.

NGCSU TIES MONTEVALLO: The North Georgia College & State University men’s soccer team tied the University of Montevallo 1-1 after double overtime on Wednesday in Dahlonega.

North Georgia’s Tyler Daly scored the first goal of the game in the 32nd minute and Kristopher Alonzo made nine saves between the pipes.

The Saints (5-3-1, 1-1-1 PBC) travel to Georgia Southwestern on Saturday in Americus.
