Mr. Robert Verson Norton Sr. and Ms. Kathryn Owen Norton of Gainesville, announce the engagement of their daughter Miss Kathryn Carter Norton to Mr. Robert Lewis Nixon Wren, son of Ms. Mischelle Wren Forrester of Gainesville.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Clifton Owen of Gainesville, and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kenimer Norton Sr. of Gainesville.

She is a 2006 graduate of Gainesville High School in Gainesville. She graduated in 2010 from The University of Alabama with a bachelor’s degree in commerce and business administration. She is employed as a branding and communications officer at The Norton Agency in Gainesville.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Mrs. Joann Wren and the late Mr. Bobby Nixon Wren of Thomson.

He is a 2007 graduate of Gainesville High School in Gainesville. He graduated in 2011 from Virginia Military Institute with a bachelor’s degree in economics and business. He is employed as a terminal trainmaster by CSX Corporation in Nashville, Tenn.

The couple plan to wed Jan. 5, 2013, at Gainesville First United Methodist Church in Gainesville.
